Qualifications

In addition to completing a diploma (PG dip.) in Counselling and Psychotherapy (2019), I hold a Doctorate in Psychotherapy from the University of Edinburgh (2024). My research explored shame in sexual experience.

I also hold a certificate in Emotionally-Focused Couples’ Therapy (EFT) and am working towards being fully qualified in a couples’ therapy specialization.

Prior to studying psychotherapy, I was a social worker in Canada and supported survivors of sexual abuse as well as youth. While completing my Doctorate, I worked in Edinburgh schools as a School Counsellor.

I am continuously taking part in short courses on topics that are of particular interest, including persistent pain, death and dying, trauma-informed practice, gestalt approaches, mindfulness practice and group analysis. A firm believer in the healing power of movement, I engage in several forms of embodied practices and these inevitably inform my work.
